First Prize at XI Amigdala International Music Competition — Brian Field | Composer of symphonic, chamber, choral and solo vocal and instrumental music

This morning I was awarded First Prize in the XI Amigdala International Music Competition memorial "Giuseppe Raciti" for my work for chorus and orchestra “Beatitudines”. This is very bittersweet; the piece which is based upon Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount—offering blessings on the peacemakers—was premiered in Lviv, Ukraine two years ago. I’ve attached here the performance from Lviv, and pray that the violence happening there resolves quickly and as peacefully as possible.
