Second (and third) prize at Franz Schubert Konservatorium

I recently took a shot across two different composition categories in the same competition at the Franz Schubert Konservatorium in Vienna – one for folk song setting, and another for orchestral works, and learned that I double placed!  Second place for the orchestral “Lullaby” (the same work that was premiered in Minneapolis earlier this year), and third for the song setting of the Sephardic “Durme, durme kerido ijico” that I’d written for soprano Lori Şen.
