Track download for the TELEPHONE arts game
Last year my friend and poet Sara Eddy turned me on to participate in a virtual arts “game” called TELEPHONE. You know the drill, someone whispers something to the next person, passing it on and on, and gets distorted or re-interpreted over time. Well, this online version was big: involving nearly 1000 artists across disciplines and—through the power of the inter-webs—spanned 72 countries. No one knew the “original” theme, just the piece of art/poetry/photo/music that landed in one’s email inbox—with no explanation—and open to interpret, and pass along to the next person in the chain. Sara wrote a poem. I wrote a piece of music. 998 others did their thing too. You can see the whole matrix of work from origin on down here: https://phonebook.gallery/about
Many (80) of the composers/sound artists who participated also agreed to have their works put into a single compilation too—that you can check out/download here (a highly varied lot!) – my track’s #38.
