"Let the Light Shine on Me" wins Ithaca College Composition Contest

Earlier this year my newest gospel-inspired choral piece “Let the Light Shine on Me” was chosen as a finalist for the Ithaca College Composition Contest.  There was going to be a series of workshops with a local choir, an evening performance of the finalists’ works and final selection of winners.   Sadly, COVID-19 shut all of that down, and the organizers opted to select the winners directly.   All that said, I was happy to learn that my piece was awarded the first prize in the competition this week!  Hopefully, the performance will happen as well post-facto once choirs are again performing together…
