Recording "A Letter from Camp" with Lucie Silkenová and the Moravská Filharmonie Olomouc
It’s always a great feeling when working with accomplished musicians, and yesterday was another one of those days that left me feeling exhausted and energized at the same time, spending 6+ hours in a recording session with Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.
The occasion was a recording of my piece for soprano and orchestra, “A Letter from Camp” (the text of which is from a poem by Walt Whitman better known in literary circles as “Come Up From the Fields, Father”).
The session was conducted by Pavel Šnajdrem (who is a composer, himself, as well as conductor) and the immensely talented Czech soprano, Lucie Silkenová, who was a joy to work with.
Still no date yet on the commercial release of the recording, but (hopefully) sometime in 2019!
